Visiting Monte Sano State Park: A Local Treasure

Located inside the park, the Wernher von Braun Planetarium provides a look at the wonders of the universe through their telescopes. Programs are also available, where you and your family can learn more about the universe and receive an educational journey unlike any other. Their programs contain educational pieces on black holes and the structure of stars, to name a few. Check out the show every Saturday night, with a price for admission. 

Japanese Garden

The North Alabama Japanese Garden is also located in the Monte Sano State Park, providing a beautiful landscape that pays homage to Japanese culture. A Tea House was built in 1991, and holds several festivals throughout the year. The garden contains Japanese Maples and azaleas that are native to the area, adding to the enriched beauty of the beloved park.
